The celebration of World Happiness Day is celebrated every year around the world on March 20. This celebration aims to recognize the link between the balance of physical, social and environmental development towards the happiness and well-being of the global population.

The achievement of Malaysian Happy Cities is measured through the Population Happiness Index Questionnaire in the Malaysian Urban-Rural National Indicators Network for Sustainable Development MURNINets 2.0. For the year 2021, MDHS is among the local authorities listed in the achievement of 29 cities in Malaysia that got a score above 90%, with an achievement of 99.77% compared to 2020, which was 83.26%.

Among the highest achievement factors obtained by MDHS is the hope of residents in upgrading the status of PBT to a municipality where the achievement system and upgrading of infrastructure facilities can be improved in urban areas and settlements.
