SWIFT WATER & FLOOD RESCUE COURSE (WHITE WATER RAFTING KUALA KUBU BHARU)
The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) is organizing a Swift Water & Flood Rescue Course at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Spirit Building Camp on 24 to 25 May 2023.
This course was conducted by the International Search and Rescue Alliance (ISARA) as a body appointed by MPHS to provide briefings and safety training to rafting operators in the Hulu Selangor District. This is to ensure that every rafting operator in this area has the competence to rescue victims in emergency situations when carrying out white water rafting activities.
The organization of this course is also one of the guidelines in completing the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) under the Selangor State Tourism Refinement Program (P3S) for extreme sports activities in the Hulu Selangor district. Indirectly, it can also give added value to the operator in giving confidence to customers/participants in carrying out white water rafting activities in Hulu Selangor.
A total of 23 participants have been involved in this first session course consisting of 8 operators. In this course, participants need to learn theory as well as practice in handling emergency situations held in Sungai Selangor, Kuala kubu Bharu.
The Opening Ceremony was officiated by Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd, President of MPHS and was attended by Tuan Awaluddin Zakaria, Deputy President of MPHS and Nurulhuda Ahmad Khairuddin, Head of the Community Development Department of MPHS.
