Selangor Platform (PLATS) is a promotional platform and digital directory that has been developed to mobilize the economy of Micro SMEs, especially Selangor hawkers and retailers due to the covid-19 pandemic crisis through hawker development training.
The program today in Hulu Selangor District, was inaugurated by the Deputy Speaker, Tuan Awaluddin bin Zakaria accompanied by the Assistant Licensing Officer, Tuan Syed Usamah bin Syed Sahar. Also present to make the program a success was Puan Siti Nur Hazwani binti Md Sabudin as the project manager of Platform Selangor (PLATS).
A total of 100 traders have participated in the training program. The Selangor State Government has developed PLATS in 2020 by implementing E-BAZAR which is the First Digital Ramadan Bazaar in Malaysia and at that time the State of Selangor was the only state that allowed bazaar traders to continue doing business in the month of Ramadan and more than 10 bazaar locations were opened to help traders.
Registration to PLATS is free, in 2021 PLATS has moved actively and has successfully registered a total of 7,742 traders in Selangor.
Until the end of 2022 PLATS has once again successfully registered a total of 18,793 traders in carrying out various joint venture programs with local authorities (PBT) including the MPHS.
In the program, PLATS has also opened several booths to facilitate hawkers including cashless booths, financial financing and free insurance schemes that have been introduced by the Selangor state government.
The objective of the program is to give exposure to traders of the importance of digitizing business, help traders switch to a cashless payment system, online ordering platform assistance and also share tips or ways of providing more effective social media to traders.
