The Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing of the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) has carried out enforcement operations on illegal waste sites in Serendah and Bukit Beruntung on 10 April 2023.
A total of 18 members have been involved in illegal waste enforcement operations involving the Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning of the MPHS, DepartmentEnforcement of the MPHS, the Building Department, the Town Planning Department as well as several agencies including the Hulu Selangor Land and District Office (PDTHS) and the Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS).
During the investigation, there was a pile of illegal garbage in an area that was not authorized by the Council. The review found that the land is freehold land. During the operation, the land was filled with construction material waste and bulk waste. The area is covered with hoardings and bars and is close to the river.
The operation continued to Jalan SKC Timah Bukit Beruntung, as a result of the investigation it was found that the illegal dumping site is government land. The Land and District Office of Hulu Selangor (PDTHS) has taken action to seal the area to prevent the addition of garbage dumping in the said area.
Enforcement action taken:
On Jalan Ipoh – KL Serendah:
1) The Building Department issued 1 compound and 2 notices under the Roads, Drains and Buildings Act 1974 (Act 133)
2) The Town Planning Department issued a notice under the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 (Act 172)
3) The Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing issued 2 notices under the 2007 Garbage Collection, Disposal and Disposal Bylaw (MDHS)
4) The Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS) issued a cleaning instruction letter under section 122(1) under the Selangor Water Management Board Enactment
On Jalan SKC Timah Bukit Beruntung:
1) Selangor Hulu Land District Office (PDTHS) seal the garbage dump area.
