MPHS RECEIVED 23 NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR TERM 2023
The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) held an Oath-taking Ceremony to Accept the Position of the Council, Hulu Selangor Municipal Council for the 2023 term on 3 January 2023 at the Chiling Meeting Room, Hulu Selangor Municipal Council.
A total of 23 Councilors took the oath of office including YDM Raja Dato' Muzaffar bin Raja Redzwa, Orang Besar of Hulu Selangor District in the presence of Mr. Tuan Mohd Hasry bin Nor Mohd, President of MPHS
Out of that number, 11 people are new faces and the rest are re-appointments. The appointment of all Council Members starts from 3 January 2023 and the political party components of the Council Members are as follows:
i. People's Justice Party (PKR) – 10 People;
i. Democratic Action Party (DAP) – 8 People; and
iii. AMANAH Party (AMANAH) – 4 People.
The President of MPHS said that the duties of a Council Member are very broad where apart from representing the public and the local community, they are also intermediaries between the community and the Local Authority. In fact, they are also responsible for setting a policy for the Local Authority (PBT).
"I believe and am confident that the wisdom and commitment of this new councilor can help the MPHS in setting new policies that are in line with the direction of the State Government and meet the wishes of the people."
"It is my great hope that Councilors will serve sincerely, people-friendly in line with the people-friendly policies practiced by the Selangor State Government. Hopefully the appointment of this Council Member will be a link between MPHS and the people of Hulu Selangor and continue the excellence of MPHS as one of the best PBTs in Malaysia", he added.
